13 SADIES GOSSIP COLUMN

This month, I've learned of a pretty good rumor going on at Kent State University. The Kent Gay Liberation Front (KGLF) is trying to reorganize under a different name and will not be in the activists movement any longer. It was said that Kent State University only budgeted a few hundred dollars for KGLF's ope ration this year. The volunteers and members of KGLF certainly have nothing to feel sorry about. Their accomplishments have been many. They have backed many a ralley and held many professional and educational programs for the gay community. We are sure that whatever their future endeavors may be,

they will be positive!

The Hayloft at 77 North Adams Street in Akron is under new management beginning this month. The bartender of the Hayloft, Jamie Vladez, and a friend Don bought the bar from Helen as her health has not been too good. Most of us will miss Helen dearly, but we also welcome the new changes that will be occur ring at the Hayloft. A Happy Hour will be added to the hours of the bar among many of the other up and coming events.

One of Akron-Canton GOLD's staff members has finally left the Gear Founda tion's staff. On June 26th, Steve Jobe, left his position as Treasurer for the Foundation. Steve had served the Gear Foundation for the past two years of which he spent one year and 10 months working on High Gear, Gear's official publication. We are glad to have him aboard and glad he is now free to help and share in the growth of Akron-Canton GOLD.

Our dear sweet Anita Bryant is claiming to have cured a homosexual! Can you believe that? I rather doubt her success as there is a very fine line between sexual preferences. Deep mental seating makes this impossible!!! PASTORAL CARE AND

THE HOMOSEXUAL IN REVIEW By Jeff Smith

The Knights of Columbus now have a free booklet titled, "Pastoral Care and The Homosexual written by John F. Harvey.

The book is not a very positive booklet as to how a homosexual may live happily. The author, Mr. Harvey, claims homosexuals are not a minority group because of ethnic or racial background. Even worse, he says that homosexuals should live a life of chastity. It was not mentioned that straights should also be chaste, just homosexuals. That means no masturbation and no outside activities, if you know what I mean. Mr. Harvey also states. that he is against homosexual school teachers. He even says, "I would tend to avoid advocacy of civil laws restricting the housing rights of homosexuals on the balance, it would do more harm than good.

Indeed, the title, is misleading and should be renamed Pastoral Torture and The Homosexual. Living according to the booklet would be just plain miserable for most homosexuals. One might as well become a monk!

This book may be gotten free by writing to The Knights of Columbus, Post Office Box 1971, New Haven, Conn. 06521.
