AN ODE TO JIM by a Columbus, Ohio reader

I first met him by a crowded roadside one day

and just for a fleeting monent his glance held mine. But since we were strangers, there was little to say, and we nearly passed on without a spoken sign.

His blue eyes, dark lashed, were deep and questioning, yet kind,

And were the eyes of one whose will was strong; of one who had a keen and eager mind,

and made out of life a brave front and joyous song.

Strange, strange, how this casual meeting has stayed with me, when things of greater magnitude long have fled,

and yet the thought of it will always be,

something to cherish, though at the time, few words were said.

NEW MOVIE BEING MADE Alan Carr, the pudgy little genius who made his fortune with GREASE and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, says shooting begins in August on "The Music Never ends." It is said to have a strong GAY THEME. The Village People, whose recent hits were YMCA and In The Navy, will be featured in the $10 million film. The film will be shot on location at Fire Island and San Francisco.
