Peninsula, Ohio: On Sunday, June 17th, some 40 gay activists met for a combination brunch and meeting in downtown Peninsula.
The purpose of the brunch was not just to sip the homemade strawberry wine, or to eat the fine pastries, but as an informative meeting and discussion on the upcoming National March in Washington, D.C. this fall and many of the other current topics affecting the gay movement.
Among many of the noted guests were Sylvia Robinson of The Detroit Organization for Human Rights, Tom Denny, community leader of Chicago, Illinois, John Zehner, Ohio House of Representatives of Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Daniel Miecznikowski, Editor of High Gear.
Our thanks go out to Rick Lange and his co-host for letting members of the Akron-Canton GOLD staff be a part of the gathering.
X-PRESS PRINT REFUSES TO PRINT AKRON-CANTON GOLD
Last month as Akron-Canton Gold was making printing instructions in preparation of the June issue, owner of the X-Press Print of 527 West Market Street, accross fr om Tangiers came out of the back room and told us that X-Press Print doesn't wa nt Your kind of business.
Akron Canton Gold had used the X-Press Print facility for the past two issues and had had no real difficulty. X-Press Print also told us that the Akron Canton Gold logo had been lost or thrown away.
We at Akron-Canton Gold wish X-Press Print no harm, but we want other gay businesses and organizations to know that they do not want our kind of business. HEARING RESET BY STATE BOARD

He had been scheduled to appear before the board last Saturday after being charged with violating rules of ethics and negligient practice. According to Vicki Walke, an investigator for the board, they re-scheduled the hearing because not enough board members were able to attend.
Walke said the June 30 hearing will probably be in Canton, rather than Columbus because witnesses are from this area. She said she didn't know the time or place yet.
On May 4, Hilaeel pleaded Innocent in Stark County Family Court to a charge of causing delinquency or unruliness of a 13 year old NE boy. The offense is a first degree misdemeanor. Tentative trial date on the charge is June 21. Hilaeel was indited on May 24 by a special state grand jury in Columbus on 8 separate counts of theft from the Medicaid system. He is accused of overcharging the Welfare Department by at least $13,000.00 from March 1978 through March of this year. According to the indictment, services paid by Medicaid were never delivered to the public by Hilaeel.
Richard A. Waltz, chief of the Division of Medicaid Fraud Control, for the state attorney general's office, said the charges are fourth degree felonies. HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY By Robyn Forst
Sunday, June 10, Club Akron celebrated its first anniversary with a party and dollar lockers for all. The entire staff was there, Dutch, Chris, Randy, Rocky, and Marty. A large crowd showed with some from the Stagecoach, and a few from the old American. There were a number of guys from the new Inmen Club. Others came from West 32nd Club Baths in Cleveland and of course there were a lot of regulars from Club Akron, particularly the strong ones who were out all night Saturday and still able to be out Sunday afternoon. A delicious and complete buffet was served with a cold tasty punch. The cake was a real show stopper but it's decorations can't be described here. Club Akron did itself proud, with movies and entertainment. That was entertainment I saw wasn't h? Now all we have to do is wait for next years 2nd anniversary party.

GEORGE PAINTER, OGRC LEGISLATIVE DIA. We are appalled at the recent decision of the Ohio Supreme Court in the State Ohio versus Phipps sexual solicitation case. The court admits in its decision on page 3, paragraph 6 that the significant language of the statute "offensive" and "reckless" are not defined under state law and that the statute is overbroad on page S, paragraph S. Nonetheless, the court has taken it upon itself to ignore the law as written by the legislature and to freely interpret it from the perspect ive of the individual biases of the Justices with disregard for reason and the apparent evidence surrounding the case:
