THE CENTRAL DEMANDS INCLUDE:

1. Repeal all anti-lesbian and anti gay laws,

2. Pass a comprehensive lesbian and gay rights bill in Congress 3. Issue a presidential executive order banning discrimination based on sexual orientation or affectual preference in the federal government, in the military, in housing, and in federally-contracted private employment, 4. Non-discrimination in lesbian mother and gay father child custody cases. 5. Protect lesbian and gay youth from any laws which are used to discriminate against, oppress or harass them in their homes, schools, and social environments. The Philadelphia Convention also called for gender parity and 20% third world representation in all national and local leadership and staff positions. The NMWLGR currently has national offices in New York, logistical offices in Washington, D. C. and local offices in San Francisco and Detroit.

TRANSPORTATION FOR MARCH

Initial details of a Nationally unified transportation plan for the October 14 March on Washington were released to the gay media June 5th. March transporta tion coordinators say a logistics office will open in Metropolitan Washington, DC.

The plan calls for a 24 hour toll free information line to be staffed by a team of operators. News releases and posters publicizing the information line will be dis tributed throughout the U.S. in early July. A support staff will monitor the March transportation arrangements of over 50 U.S. locales keeping the information line up to date.

Additionally, a computer system at the disposal of the information center operators will help in arranging rides for March enthusiasts nationwide who prefer carpools to train, air, and bus carriers already reserved in many local areas by travel agencies and local transportation committees in coordination with the national transportation office.

Agencies and other persons interested in helping to organize March transportation on the local level should contact the National office in New York City which will temporarily coordinate transportation until Transportation Offices in Washington is established around the first week in July. March organizers are now turning their attention to a national conference in Houston, July 6 thru 8, aimed at wrapping up March plans. According to Ray Hill, Co-chair of the National Logistics Committee, delegates from all regions of the U.S., representing the ethnic composition of their area will convene Houston. Says Hill, "Such a nationally representative body can guarantee the March on Washington speaks from the heart of the American lesbian and gay

population!"
