OGRC
The Ohio Gay Rights Coalition is a nonprofit coalition of organizations and concerned individuals working to end discrimination. against people on the basis of their sexual and/or affectional orientation.
O.G.R.C. was founded in 1977 to unify the Gay/Lesbian Rights Movement in Ohio by sponsoring cooperative statewide educational and political projects and by improving communications among active groups and individuals.
The O.G.R.C. commitment to social change is exemplified by its activities in legislative lobbying, public education and community organizing to obtain full civil rights protection for all people living alternative sexual and/or affectional lifestyles, and to protect the child custody rights of Lesbian mothers and Gay fathers.
Wear membership is open to all interested groups and individuals who subscribe to the basic principles listed above and who submit the necessary application and membership fee. Members are afforded voting rights at O.G.R.C. business meetings, discounts on O.G.R.C. sponsored events and a subscription to the O.G.R.C. newsletter. A Board of Trustees administers the organization and directs projects chosen by the membership. Meetings are held regularly in different cities around the
