GAY CIVIL RIGHTS PETITION

WHEREAS, we, the undersigned, recognize the discrimination perpetrated in American society against homosexual individuals, and

WHEREAS, we affirm the inalienable civil rights of all people, as exemplified by the United States Constitution and its ammendmends, and

WHEREAS, we strongly feel that the lifestyle of an individual as well as her/his sexual and affectional preference when conducted in private between consenting adults is solely a matter of personal conscience,

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY CHARGE the federal, state and local legislative bodies to PROHIBIT DISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF SEXUAL OR AFFECTIONAL PREFERENCE in employment, housing, public accomodations and child custody-visitation rights, through statutes and administrative action. We hereby also state our strong support for United States House of Representatives bill H.R. 2998 and encourage its passage in the 1977-78 session.
